Music Monday

I'm back with a music monday for you. Now for this one I was a little bit weary of what I should post. I mean I have found new songs, but I am not in love with them as I am with my already posted songs, so I though I would share with you some remix that I have discovered of songs that I have shared with you.

1. Tove Lo- Habits (Chainsmokers remix)
This one has more of an upbeat tempo to the original and the remix by hippie sabotage, but I think it makes it perfect for a getting ready to go out song.

2. Lana Del Rey_Money Power Glory

So I guess I haven't shared this song with you yet so here is a new song. I have occasionally listened to Lana's new album, but I seem to appreciate her music more int colder weather. Also I prefer her sound on a vinyl. So until I get her album on a vinyl, I will have to just use spotify as my outlet.

Music Monday_Hunger of the Pines by Alt-J

Alt-J will be releasing there new album soon, but until then they have been releasing a few singles and I have to say that I am really excited about that. I was going to post this song last week, but for some reason it had slipped my mind. But no worries, it is being posted now. I hope you love this song as much as I do. They did some sampling of Miley Cyrus from her 4x4 song, which makes me even happier, given that I really like Miley Cyrus.

Music Monday_URL Badman by Lily Allen

This has to be my favorite song off of Lily's new album Sheezus. There are others that I love as much, but I just love the sound and the lyrics. I think it is witty and a great portrayal on culture today.

Monday Minute_Stay high (habit remix) ft. hippie sabotage by Tove Lo

My sister had showed me this song prior to going back to NY but I had forgotten about it for about a week. I was thinking about this song on my way back from the City and have been playing it on repeat ever since. I think the video is pretty cool and the sound is great.

Music Monday_ Pursuit of Happiness cover by Lissie

Now I recently found this song in a Spotify playlist. I think this cover of Kid Cudi's song Pursuit of Happiness. It adds a great soul mix to it.

Music/Movie Monday_The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

Now it may be strange to have a movie be my favorite Music and Movie for this week, but I will have to say that the soundtrack for this movie was just amazing. It added this great sense of adventure and lust for the great outdoors and to experience something new. The movie as a whole was very good and very inspirational. What I mainly got out of it was that I need to travel more and as much as possible. The cinematography in the movie was amazing the the landscape views were just beautiful.

If you haven't seen the movie yet you should go out and see it as soon as possible. Also go check out the soundtrack if you can, you won't regret it.

Music Monday: Snoh Aalegra_ Burning Bridges

This Scandinavian singer has the soul of a 90s R&B with a mix of modern day beats. I think she can really go big and I can't wait to see what else she will bring forth in her music. The fashion in this music is great and I love the way the music video was filmed. It allowed for you to focus on the lyrics and the the singer rather than focusing on what she is actually doing.

Side Note: Am I the only one who thinks she looks like a mixture of Natalie Portman and Eva Longoria?

Music Monday_Ke$ha : Dirty Love

This is such a fun music video/song that Ke$ha has released. I think it just has a great beat and the old videos that she puts in her video has a very ironic point to it that  like. Ke$ha also look great in this video. Her hair and make is a lot fun and I think the two toned pastel hair would be great for a night out look if you are daring enough to try it out for the night.

Music Monday_Miley Cyrus :Adore You

Miley has released a new music video past thursday. I will have to say that it was a nice change of pace from her last two videos. This mainly too place in a bed under sheets as she pretended to be seducing the camera. What I liked about it was the no make up make up look she rocked the whole video, the fact that she never did anything too vulgar and that I felt an emotion of what she was trying to emit to the camera.  Hope you enjoy it like I did.

Music Monday_M.I.A "Y.A.L.A"

This is just a very fun song and video. I will have to say that if strobing neon lights are not your thing, this video is not for you. But for me, all I want to do when I play this song an video is just dance. What I think makes this video even more special is the collaboration with Kenzo for the clothing. The graphic prints add a new level to the video an M.I.A looks gorgeous in them as always. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Music Monday

So one thing I liked about my previous blog is that I posted Music Mondays. It would be a song that I had discovered or re-discovered over the past week or two and I share the video with you. I hope that you enjoy this segment as much as I do.

For this week I bring to you Lana Del Rey. I will first have to tell you that she is one one of my favorite singers for the moment. She just released her short film "Tropico" which includes three of her songs off her album. ( Body Electric, Bel Air, and Gods and Monsters) This video was very entertaining and I loved the progression of the story. Lana never fails to create a story that has depth and makes you think a bit. I hope for the best for her in the future and can't wait to see what she creates next.
